Effect of Urea on the Membrane-bound Deoxyribonuclease from Rabbit Reticulcytes

Abstract
|
|
|
Effect of urea, parahydroxymercuribenzoate and glutathione on the membranebound deoxyribonuclease from rabbit reticulocytes was investigated.
The deoxyribonuclease activity was activated by urea above 2 M concentration, but.parahydroxymercuribenz to and glutathione were not affected.
Some inhibitors of protein-nature were suggested to be present in peripheral circulating erythrocytes and reticulocytes of normal and phenylhydrazine-HCI treated rabbit.
Inhibitory activity of the inhibitor was almost released by urea at 4 M.
